Kawari grew in 2006, acquiring its 1976 API console. What was once a studio apartment is now a second-floor control room with a separate kitchen and full bathroom, as well as an attached deck. The studio has grown into a unique and relaxed place to record and mix. It is our goal to provide an ideal space for artists and producers to create using a combination of vintage and modern tools. We are walking distance to the Wyncote/Jenkintown Regional Rail, as well as the Cheltenham Square Bus terminal.

Karl Rieders

Music has been a passion for Karl from a young age. Trained in Suzuki method piano as a child, Karl expanded his musical palette in his teens, participating in multiple summer music programs at Berkeley School of Music in Boston, and the Temple University BTMM program. In 2003 Karl turned a small carriage house in the back of his childhood home into the first incarnation of Kawari Sound. What started as a small home studio and practice space grew into a modern commercial facility. Through a passion for interesting and rare instruments and recording equipment, Karl has amassed a collection that rivals any in the area. A musician and producer in his own right, Karl has played with and produced artists like Anjuli Josephine, Brandon Miller and Deadfellow. When he’s not in the studio Karl is building incredible LEGO displays and smoking whole sides of salmon.'
